Day 1 on the Analog Design Engineer path.

What a Analog Design Engineer does

Designs low-noise analog circuits for electronic products so signals are accurate, stable, and manufacturable.

  • Design analog circuits like amplifiers, filters, references, and sensor front-ends
  • Analyze noise, offset, drift, stability, and power tradeoffs to meet specs
  • Simulate circuits across corners, temperature, and supply variation
  • Review layouts for matching, parasitics, and signal integrity risks
  • Build lab setups to measure performance and debug issues on silicon or boards
  • Coordinate with digital, layout, test, and systems teams to integrate blocks
  • Document designs, assumptions, and test results for reuse and sign-off

A day in the life

  1. Review specs, past test data, and decide what to change in the next iteration
  2. Run simulations, compare results to targets, and update schematics
  3. Meet with layout and systems to align on constraints and interfaces
  4. In the lab, measure noise, gain, and stability, then troubleshoot mismatches
  5. Write short design notes and plan the next set of experiments
