Day 1 on the Pipefitter path.

What a Pipefitter does

Installs, tests, and repairs pipe systems in industrial sites so water, steam, gas, and chemicals flow safely and reliably.

  • Read drawings and plan pipe routes, supports, and connection points
  • Measure, cut, thread, bend, and fit pipe to exact lengths and angles
  • Assemble pipe systems using welding, brazing, soldering, or mechanical joints
  • Install valves, pumps, gauges, and other inline equipment
  • Pressure test systems, find leaks, and verify safe operation
  • Repair or replace damaged sections while minimizing downtime
  • Follow safety rules for hot work, confined spaces, and hazardous materials
