What a Physical Therapist does

Helps children and adults improve movement and reduce pain after injury, illness, or surgery through exercise, hands-on care, and coaching.

  • Assess movement, strength, balance, and pain to understand the problem
  • Create rehab plans with goals, exercises, and home routines
  • Teach patients safe exercises and how to prevent re-injury
  • Use hands-on techniques to improve mobility and reduce pain
  • Track progress and adjust treatment based on results and feedback
  • Coordinate care with doctors, nurses, and other therapists
  • Document visits, outcomes, and safety notes in health records

  1. Review schedules and patient notes, then set goals for each session
  2. Run 1:1 sessions with exercise, coaching, and hands-on treatment
