Day 1 on the UX Designer path.

What a UX Designer does

Plan and test how people use apps and services so tasks feel clear, fast, and frustration-free.

  • Research user needs through interviews, surveys, and usability tests
  • Map user journeys and define key tasks, screens, and flows
  • Design wireframes and prototypes to explore ideas quickly
  • Write clear interaction details like states, errors, and empty screens
  • Run usability tests and turn findings into design changes
  • Collaborate with product and engineering to ship usable features
  • Check designs against accessibility and inclusive design basics

A day in the life

  1. Review feedback, analytics, and support tickets to spot user pain points
  2. Sketch flows, build a prototype, and share it for quick critique
  3. Meet with product and engineering to align on scope and tradeoffs
  4. Test with a few users, summarize insights, and update the design
