Keeps inventory records accurate for warehouses and stores by counting stock, fixing errors, and improving processes so orders can be filled on time.

  • Monitor stock levels and investigate shortages, overages, and damaged goods
  • Perform cycle counts and coordinate full physical inventory counts
  • Reconcile system records with on-hand stock and correct root causes
  • Track inventory movements between locations, bins, and storage zones
  • Analyze variance trends and recommend process changes to reduce errors
  • Coordinate with receiving, picking, and shipping teams to fix issues fast
  • Maintain item master data like units, locations, and reorder settings

A day in the life

  1. Review daily variance reports and prioritize items to count or recheck
  2. Walk the floor to count stock, verify labels, and confirm locations
  3. Update inventory systems and document adjustments with clear reasons
  4. Meet with warehouse and purchasing to prevent repeat errors
  5. End the day by checking open issues and planning tomorrow counts
