What a Account Manager does

Manages relationships with existing customers to keep them satisfied, renew contracts, and grow account revenue.

  • Build relationships with customer contacts and understand their goals
  • Coordinate renewals, pricing updates, and contract changes with internal teams
  • Track account health, usage, and issues to reduce churn risk
  • Run regular check-ins and business reviews to align on results and next steps
  • Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities based on customer needs
  • Resolve escalations by coordinating support, product, and billing teams
  • Maintain accurate notes, forecasts, and plans in the CRM

  2. Join customer calls to plan next steps, handle concerns, and confirm value
  3. Work with support and product teams to unblock urgent customer problems
