What a Product Owner does

Owns the team backlog by turning customer and business needs into clear priorities so delivery teams ship the right product changes.

  • Gather needs from customers, users, and stakeholders
  • Write and refine user stories with clear acceptance criteria
  • Prioritize the backlog based on value, risk, and effort
  • Answer team questions and clarify requirements during delivery
  • Plan and run backlog refinement and sprint planning sessions
  • Review completed work and accept or reject against criteria
