What a Implementation Specialist does

Sets up and configures software for customers, fixes setup issues, and trains users so the product works well in real work.

  • Run kickoff calls to confirm goals, timelines, and success measures
  • Gather requirements and map customer workflows to product features
  • Configure accounts, permissions, settings, and integrations
  • Import and validate data, then resolve errors and mismatches
  • Diagnose setup issues and coordinate fixes with support and engineering
  • Create training sessions and guides to help users adopt the product
  • Track progress, risks, and next steps, and report status to stakeholders

A day in the life

  1. Review project plan, open tasks, and customer questions from overnight
  2. Host a customer call to confirm requirements and demo a configured setup
  3. Configure settings, test integrations, and document decisions and steps
  4. Work with support or engineering on a tricky bug or data import issue
  5. Send a clear status update with risks, timelines, and next actions
