What a AI Governance and Responsible AI Advisor does

Helps organizations use AI safely and legally. Writes AI policies, assesses risks, and checks systems against rules like the EU AI Act. Works between legal, risk, and technology teams so AI tools are fair, documented, and accountable.

  • Write AI policies and usage guidelines that staff can actually follow
  • Run risk assessments on AI systems before clients deploy them
  • Map client AI systems against regulations like the EU AI Act
  • Review models for bias and fairness using test data and reports
  • Set up model documentation, audit trails (records that prove what happened), and approval steps
  • Design incident processes for when an AI system causes harm or errors
  • Train legal, risk, and technology teams on responsible AI practices
  • Advise leaders on which AI uses are safe, risky, or off-limits

A day in the life

  1. Check regulator updates and client questions, then set the day's priorities
  2. Interview a client's data science team about how a model works
  3. Score an AI system against a risk framework and draft findings
  4. Meet legal and compliance leads to agree on policy wording
  5. Review a vendor's model documentation and flag missing evidence
