What a Photographer does

Plan, shoot, and edit images for clients or audiences to capture moments, promote products, or tell a clear visual story.

  • Plan shoots with clients by defining goals, style, shot list, and schedule
  • Set up cameras, lenses, lighting, and backgrounds for the location and subject
  • Direct people or arrange products to get strong poses, expressions, and composition
  • Capture photos while adjusting exposure, focus, and framing as conditions change
  • Edit and retouch images for color, cropping, and cleanup while keeping a natural look
  • Manage files by backing up, naming, and delivering images in the right formats
  • Maintain gear by cleaning, charging, and troubleshooting basic equipment issues

  2. Run the shoot: set lights, direct subjects, and capture multiple options
